I'm so disappointed in myself.

I went to Apopka's Prom. And I had fun :)

Yesterday was crazy busy! i got up in the morning, not in time to clean my room up, had breakfast, then went to get my hair did at Hair Cuttery at 11:30am. i liked how it came out :) it wasn't an updo, it was sectioned on the top of my head and then banded at the end... then the back was curled! i wanted something different from last year and i thought hmm i wonder how i'd look with curly hair . it actually reminded me of what the cowardly lion looked like after they souped him up. lol. minus the bowties. it took her an hour to do. "you have a lot of hair!!" haha. um thanks? it would be comb, hair spray, hot iron, comb, hair spray, hot iron... at one point i heard her say to the other hairdresser "my hand's getting stuck! so much hair spray." hee hee. i should've grabbed a magazine cuz i was just sitting there for an hour lost in thoughts, listening to the radio, and staring at the toddler throwing cars across the salon.

it cost $45; less than last year's. I really overtipped her, dunno why. but she was just focused on doing the hair and not trying to socialize and pry into my life, which i liked so i rewarded her. haha. by then it was 12:45pm and SWE had their banquet at Olive Garden at 2. i found out that i would only be able to stay for about 15min once it started, because i had to be back before my date for the night would be there at 3:30!!!, but i wanted to see people before the summer! so i went! haha i drove 45 min there cuz i'm crazy and would only see people for 15min. i called zena at one to tell her i'd be there early and hopefully she'd be there too but i just left a message. but apparently she doesn't know how to check her voice msgs yet so she called me at 1:45 so i could tell her my msg then. oh i got to olive garden at 1:30, no one that i saw was there so i was just sitting in the lot. i told her i had my hair all done and she was like "oh i wanna see! i'm gonna go 80 now!" haha. she got there in time! yay! she took out her camera phone and took a picture lol. i got to say hi to others like Nathalia, Vanessa, Honey, Beth, and Alicesun. i was outside talking with Zena when Shannon and Jennifer presented me with a Service Award! wow! i didn't expect that at all. "we were deciding whether to give this to you now or later, but we thought we should do it now!" it was for good service on the Publicity Committee :D. Thanks Jonnie!! You're awesome! they said the chair nominated me (which is Jonnie). lol then i took a picture with it on Zena's phone. "oh that's so cheesy!" like graduation or something haha. yes it was bad. but i hugged Jen and Shannon for thanks and forgot to tell them to thank Jonnie for the nomination. oops! too bad i couldn't see jonnie, she was coming late. i socialized with zena some more then i had to leave :(. i wish i could've done both, but gosh darn parents wanna take pictures and us having crazy early reservations at Crazy buffet! :p. j/k.

i dashed home and got there by 3:20. lol sweet! 10minutes! my mom is helping me get ready when at 3:25 we hear the doorbell. he's early!! noo! "where are his parents?" "it's just him." "i guess they didn't come." we were originally going back to his house so his parents could take pictures. at 3pm. and i was like no i dont think i'd be ready by then! so the compromise was 3:30 they'd follow behind him and take pictures at my house. lol. i was almost ready but then i couldn't find the purse i wanted to use! "it's in the garage!" "it's not there!" "where is it??" *walks out of bedroom* "hi matt!...so your parents couldn't come" "oh they wanted to wait in the car" "what?! no let them in!" i think they had been in there for 10minutes by then. and it was HOTT outside. so they came in while my sis, mom, and i are still scrambling around looking for my purse. my mom found it in my drawer. haha. i don't remember it being there! but i looked all ready and his mom, dad, and grandmother are there. "oh you look beautiful!" type stuff... i'm glad we both matched! i told him what my dress looked like ahead of time just for that reason. he gave me a beautiful pink rose wrist corsage. oh yeah there were 3 cameras taking pictures because they had one and my mom had one lol. took some more pictures outside and we left at about 3:40 for amanda's house!

oh! i haven't mentioned my turtle encounter! i was walking on the "boardwalk" on campus past the "lake" when i saw it.... this huge softshell turtle! it was at least....2 feet long! it was kinda far away but oh yes, i saw it. fortunately i had a camera and snapped a shot. it was on the grass basking in the sun. then i walk to the edge of the boardwalk to get a teeny bit closer. but i guess it spotted me cuz it turned around SO FAST and bellyflopped back into the water! haha. it left a lot of ripples. yay turtle! made me happy :)

i am so glad that we got to NC and back safely. yesterday on the news they were covering a story about a group of hs seniors coming back on a tour bus from a trip at the bahamas, when some idiot cut the median causing a chain reaction. if it hadn't been for a tree, they would have rolled down. yikes. some were hurt but not seriously. THANK GOD that was not our bus! i was really praying once we were leaving the campus. and i was actually thinking man this didn't work, here we are stuck again in Georgia! . but just seeing that yesterday reminded me how we were really protected. i mean besides being grossly delayed, we were all safe and watching out for each other. so i'm very grateful.
