it's almost 2004! isn't it exciting?! well i must say, this has been the longest 365days i have EVER experienced. i did so much! and most of it were fun experiences! i WAS going to do some huge summary of what i did... but being the avid readers you are (not to mention being friends), you would probably KNOW all that stuff already. :) so i am just taking a bit of a moment to reflect... reflection is good they say... hmm....*reflecting*.... well that's enough of that. all of you reading this gets my virtual star of the day! 1. because i'm glad you're reading and 2. because i have a lot of virtual stars to give out!

yay citrus parade! today at 11 got there early walked all the way to beginning of it from grandstands (which is far), found out we were marching in the parade with the volunteer entry (boo more walking) but two antique cars driving with us so dad got us to sit in the backs of them, free rides wave at everyone like royalty wannabes, lotsa fun, SAW NICOLE! who was also with raymond and her mom yay! so happy to see her she called my name (crystal) and i looked and there she was, i waved at cameras and people i didn't think would wave back, and at people up in buildings, most volunteers that marched with us were girl scouts who had their uniforms on so people would go alrite girlscouts! as if they weren't part of the volunteer entry, also got confused with my waving, i guess that happens when you do something for along time you stop to think about it and go huh?

if u're in florida, and you're bored the 1st, watch the citrus parade at 11am (or the reruns) and look for us especially behind that big ol purdue entry... :)

Well. It's Christmas everyone. Hooray. I dunno about the rest of you, but i'm having a good time. :) geez i had a lot of presents. well maybe it just seemed like it because they were little things. mostly earrings. which all have turtles :D. lol. Claire's is my friend. I also got a toy turtle and clothes (THANKS FOR THE TURTLE SHIRT HOLLY!!!)... candy, toe socks (lol), and earring holder(very thoughtful)... yup.

We watched the Very Merry Christmas Parade. 20th anniversary woohoo! hee hee. I actually watched the entire thing this year. I enjoyed it much.

i dont remember everything i wanted to say in here. if i remember i'll add it later... oh um i started playing my clarinet again. hee hee. can you hear the squeaks now? well i have nothing else to do. tomorrow we're sposed to go help the Citrus Parade by decoration floats. with what? Grapefruits, oranges, tangerines! i remember how beat up my hands were from strapping those fruits with rubberbands to the chickenwire... but hey! free lunches and prizes ain't half bad! :D

it's Christmas Eve Eve!

today was a day just like any other day.

except now i have 10 lords a-leaping around my house!

i think i'm gonna change my template again. not that i dont like the cat. or that i even know what i'm changing it to...

i watching local channel 9. and this lady named Catherine Rose hosts this educational show for kids. it's like what you'd see at a library or maybe show and tell. except the camera would zoom into the bored parents' faces instead of the kids. ANYWAY... guess which animal she was talking about! i'll give you a hint... TURTLES!! hee hee. she brought actual turtles there! yay! i was all into it. my sister was like "booorrriinnng!!". lol. personally i thought it was great. she brought loggerhead musk turtles, box turtle, tortoises... i didn't see the whole show unfortunately.

what else... the weather has gone down to the 40s lately in Florida. but today and yesterday was nicer. nicer as in warmer. i think i'd like to see it snow once. just for one day, i don't want to kill those florida natives or anything. i'd just like to see some snowflakes gently traveling through space and time, descending upon a palm tree, decorated elegantly with lights. hmm. yes...

i finally finished sending (most) of my Christmas/holiday cards. Sorry for the ones that came tardy. thesequel was taking up a lot of my time.

oh oh and one more thing! i was watching MacGyver (because he's the bestest handyman ever) and his friend was telling a little story!

the Scorpion and the Turtle

one day a scorpion wanted to get across the river, but he couldn't swim. he decided to ask the turtle to help him get across. the turtle thought well he wouldn't sting me because he would drown, so he decided to help him. but as they got halfway across, the scorpion stung him! the turtle asked,"why did you do that? now we will both drown!". and the scorpion replied "because it's my nature".

yes. sad story in fact. he told that story because macgyver tried to save the evil villain (former gf?) from falling off the cliff but she was actually trying to throw him off and stab him anyway. and she fell off the cliff. muhaha. SO the point was, he could try to help her but she would still do her villain thang cuz it was her nature. and i thought it was mucho cool that he told a story with a turtle in it! yay.

gosh what day am i on now? oh... *looks at calendar*... i've been doing the whole thing a day ahead! dagnabit! (Beverly HillBillies on TV in the background)... so let's pretend my true love skipped a day and on the

so anyway i've been TRYING to put my (wretched) movie ON the dVd.

for the past three days.

it's just being gosh darn difficult. ALL it's gotta do is RENDEr, compile, and CREATE! that's it!

i tried encouraging the laptop, being with it, petting it.

doesn't work. okay wait let me rephrase that. this is what it DOES do. it takes 3 hours to compile, then it stops saying there isn't enough room. OR it freezes. but there was one time where it just got stuck at CREATE. hmm...

SO... i dunno what i'm gonna do. maybe just put the file up on the web. *growls*

1.) there's a slot on the self-serve post machine that prints out forms: "This is NOT a mail slot! Do not put mail in here! this is for receipts!" haha. loosely quoted. but i can imagine the slot jamming because of mail that got stuck in there....

2.) oh and i'd swear, if i did swear, that older men have some weird attraction to me. *shudders*. so as i'm sticking some stamps on a package:

We got our Christmas tree on Sunday. And it's a MONSTAH. Monstah like hugeness in height. For some reason none of us realized how tall it really was until we stuck it in the tree holder. lol. how big is it? Well fortunately we have one of those sloping ceilings that get up to 12 ft. We managed to place the tree right where it hits 12 ft! I'd say the tree is about 10 ft. It's funny because we didn't have a ladder to decorate all the way up. Especially for the star. So what did we do? We got a chair and stacked this big planter pot we have. hee hee. and guess who stood on top?? yup.. it was the oddest experience. I felt like one of the decorations just standing up there. lol. i still had to stretch to get the star on. it was fun! :P So now it's all decorated and shining brightly. I told Sonya it remined me of a Whoville tree when we first saw it because the top was bent over from hitting the tent it was in. and it's sort of skinny. I took taco's advice and tried to sing that song the Whos sing at the end of the movie. hee hee. (didn't know all of it tho)

I'm so fully engulfed in this Christmas season biz now. As if Magic 107.7's 24hour playtime of "Holiday" music wasn't enough. (It's all Christmas-related music). They always play this one song when I'm listening! It goes: "Last Christmas I gave you my heart, but the very next day you gave it away.. This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special..." LoL it's one of the most depressing Christmas songs out there! And they play it over and over... There was something else I wanted to talk about... hmm... uh well I wanted to talk about my Christmas cards but then I realize only one person has seen it. hee hee. I sent Taco a package on Friday. It got there Saturday. lol that must be scary. Well I had no idea I was paying so much, and that it had to be signed and everything! It was great though because yesterday I talked to her and found out she hadn't opened it yet. It was just sitting under the tree lol. We had a great round of persuasion for her to open it. Well first she had to take the card out before looking at the other stuff. haha. Her reaction was worth the wait...

Finally on two other notes...

I rented the Two Towers yesterday so my sister could see it before she sees The Return of the King with her friend on Friday. I watched it too bien sur. (Harry Potter's better! woo!) lol. I guess I'd have to read the books to understand better. Iono it doesn't really appeal to me. The tree people were funny though. Fascinating stories tho. I'd watch the last one to see how it ends. even though i figured most of it out.

Oh and I exchanged Christmas gifts with Kate. She got me a Turtle charm. THANK YOU!!!! It's really beautiful. I dont have charm bracelet (yet) but I can wear it as a necklace or on a keychain. I burned her a few CDs and I got her a "Worst-Case Scenario Handbook to Travel". Lol i thought of her when i saw that because she's going on a roadtrip next year. Well if she's ever riding a runaway camel or going down a waterfall, she'll know how to survive! :D

okay i started writing this yesterday but it blogger felt like messing it up and wouldn't post it! and wouldn't u know it was the one time i forgot to copy it first? ah well... so here's the shorter version of what i was gonna post.

On Wednesday I went on a tour of Disney's Ride and Show Engineering Central Shops with SWE. and it. was. awesome. I felt it would be the deciding factor as to if Disney was really the great place to work that i always wanted to.

We saw a lot of great stuff like where they check the ride vehicles, the animatronics, and costumes. it was cool when we saw the actual people working on the costumes. it was weird seeing Small World dolls without the heads and Jungle Cruise elephants sans some of the skin. I was surprised by how many different costumes there were. Mostly Mickeys and Minnies though. Zena and I were really confused as to why a Ninja Turtle head was there. Are they Disney? Hmm maybe it's just cuz i'm doomed to an eternal game of "I Spy a Turtle!" everywhere i go. :P hee hee that was fun tho.

after the tour we went to the breakroom where 3 (female) managers with an engineering degree spoke about their background and how their job is. When i heard their stories it was really amazing. they all came from different degrees (electrical, civil, and industrial) and yet they are all in similar positions now. WOW. just thought i'd get that out. :) they made me want to work there even more! hooray.

great time indeed. I used I-4 and didn't get lost going or coming! amazing experience. I had a final scheduled from 1-3 that day and the tour was sposed to start at 4pm. i worried that i would come late and they'd start without me but i finished my exam in about 30minutes. lol. i know, it's horrible, but he (dr. head geo teacher) said it would be approx 50 qs and it was only 33! Oh and i dunno how i did on it. I probably got a C or B just like every other thing i tried doing in his class.

anyway, i was very glad i did that and now i am going to finish watching my Pirates of the Caribbean commentary with Johnny and Gore.

Love actually is all around

eh i meant to post yesterday really i did! then i meant to this morning... and it wouldn't let me sign in.

i got up at 4am this morning. woohoo! i had an exam at 7! which means leave at 5:30. take morning shower, go online, eat breakfast. only got there 30min early. had some time for studying. hee hee incomplete sentences are great. i'm gonna miss them next semester when i take comp II... so my final was good i think, pretty confident, not as hard. i waited for billy to come out and his friend waited with me too. well i spose he's my friend by association. but he is cool so i have no prob with it. we called his house to make sure he actually came to school. turns out he didn't come until 8:30. the exam was over at 9am. :S i felt so bad for him! apparently he had no idea. how sad.

yesterday i met with zena at west oaks to see.... LOVE ACTUALLY! too cute too cute. vraiment. great christmas movie. lol or maybe romance? haha. not what i expected i'll tell yeah that much. witty humorous stuff. j'adore les films anglaises. i prolly said that wrong... *shrugs*.


i'll talk about what else i did today, tomorrow.

Yesterday i met with my friend Sara to study for the Sociology final. Well we finally had all of our notes but the studying wasn't really successful. She kept getting distracted by the squirrels. it was a very nice day so we were sitting on the grass by the fountain. Sara brought some snacks to eat while we were "studying". One of which was a box of candies made of PURE maple syrup and cane syrup. i.e. SUGAR! lol. it was SO sweet. she said when her roommates tried it they would start twitching on the ground. lol. anyway, she was like don't take too much unless you're used to it. i took a piece and didn't go nuts. "apparently you're used to it". hee hee yes.... so then a squirrel came up to us. he was literally on my backpack at one point! so sara decide to feed it. She takes a piece of the syrup candy feeds it to the squirrel and it takes it. "hmm it likes it?" i said. then all the sudden it stops eating, throws piece on the ground, and sprints really fast away from us! hahaha it was like he all the sudden realized what he was eating. it was HILARIOUS! i was telling sara she was poisining the wildlife. lol.

Gosh it's December already!

Sorry I haven't posted for almost 4 whole days! Been busy.I had a Geo exam yesterday. Tonite I'm working on my part of the Marshmallow Launcher report. The last Intro to Engineering project EVER! I found out I dont have to take the Intro part II class because of what I want to major in. Good because they all say it's a waste of time. muhaha.

Gotta go Christmas card shopping! I'm trying to send them early this year! Wouldn't that be amazing friends-in-California? haha. Actually I don't think i'm too bad with that. They usually get there a few days before Christmas? Anyway... I was at Wal*Mart the other day and instead of traditional cards, they have what look like Christmas Valentines! hee hee. u know the kind kids pass out. My sis and I thought it was SO cool! They had Harry Potter ones... that would be funny if Tiff passed those out to her friends this year. I dunno if she's decided to do it or not.

Jonnie got me a gift. It was for being a good committee member. Aww that was so nice of her. But now i have to get something for her.... I have no idea what. She bought turtle earrings and a necklace. PLUS dum dums and hershey's chocolate! Hopefully I'll find something on my way to school. What says: "You've been a good committee chairperson!" ?
